First time ordering pizza from this location. Took it home and, WOW! I was amazed how good this pizza was! It was cooked perfectly as well. Reading previous reviews, I am shocked, but glad I had a very good experience.
Best pizza in the greater Harrisburg area. The Della Nonna Pizza is fantastic. Any pizza you get here would be awesome. Excellent salads as well. We love to get the Chicken Balsamic Salad. Order one of those and two Nonna slices and you've got a super tasty meal for two. (The pizza slices are huge). Any of Tonino's locations provide the same high quality and delicious food.
I give this place an FIVE star BUT read on for an big pitfall which happened Oct. 05,2023 - #2 below. Coming from New York where from place to place you can not find better pizza. This place, Tonino's - Harrisburg off route 22, if you miss N.Y. pizza will make you happy. Often - I go into Toninos order two slices - after half an slice I ask them to make me an large pie to go. We also enjoy the pizza rolls and other foods like the calzone, stromboli, etc. It is an 35 minute one way drive to get to Toninos. There are two issues though: 1 - I have yet to identify and I will - there is an day of the week where someone there does NOT know how to make pizza and the way delicious pizza is always found there. I've been forgetting to watch - but I find it dismaying because IF you use the same ingredients - how can this be ? 2 - Now this is bad, real BAD. I ordered an Margherita pizza and an large cheese pizza. And after paying I decided I could not leave without two orders of the delicious pizza rolls. I noticed the Margherita pizza was removed from the oven given to the young lady. She went into the kitchen to add atop the tomato chunks and the basil - then returned it to the pizza guy to enter to the oven for finishing/baking. When I got home my Wife, waiting for this delicious pizza, and I both grabbed an slice of Margherita pizza and took an large bite. I then bent over nearly vomiting. Now I read people [here] commenting about SALTY - and I have experienced people being heavy handed with salt seasoning but the amount of salt on this pizza was incredible. There was no way anyone would be able to eat this pizza. At my age ... It would be 'deadly'. We examined the pizza topping to discover - the tomato chunks - were as if an entire shaker of salt was used to 'season' those tomato's. The man managing there knows I like the food there, I do feed the tip jar ..... so it was not an malicious act. The same advice on Food shows - when in the food business - taste it once in a while. And many have realized - REMOVE the SALT containers. If people want SALT they should salt it themselves.
First time at this location and I must say that everything was great. Pizzas were fantastic. I purchased three different styles and everyone loved them. Cheese & onion calzone was one of the best that I have encountered. Greek salad was huge, quality and dressing was exceptional. Really really good pizza. You can tell that high end ingredients are used. Right down to the olives in the salads. Keep up the great service!
